Calling all kids and parents of kids between the ages of 9 and 13! Write and send your nature stories and with the chance to get your story professionally illustrated and published! The forewords of the English and Hindi stories will be written by Ruskin Bond and Aamir Khan respectively. Grab this opportunity! Entries will be closed on the 20th of August.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
We are sure that our children across India have imaginations that are more fertile that the Gangetic Plains!Here’s an invitation to put that amazing imagination to use & come up with a wonderful story about Nature. It could be fact or it could be fiction. It could be about rain clouds ( it is a fact that some of the rain clouds weigh as much as a 100 elephants!) or trees or animals or just about any aspect of the environment that fascinates you and is worthy of a tale.
Just get imaginative, become a nature writer and share your story with us .
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
If you are a student, studying in classes 4 – 7, you can join this wonderful enriching, program.Language of Participation :
You can write in Hindi or in English.
Length of story : Do make sure your story is not shorter than 200 words.
A few tips on how to write a storyStories find a way of getting told. They sneak into the imagination of a person, then they feed on all the little experiences that she/ he has had, they grow fat with juicy information that the person has heard & they look for a way to pour out!
However, it may need a little push. Here are a few simple ways to do just that. Identify something in Nature that grabs your interest
Jot down in a manual or a diary, all the little facts that buzz around it
Make notes , draw squiggles, comment
Draw a connecting thread across all the above
Write your story
Read it again, edit it if you need to
Submit your nature story
